Our comprehensive curriculum includes didactic lecture, realistic emergency simulation training, clinical ride-a-longs and interactive participation methods to train you for a career on a BLS or CCT Ambulance. Mastery of course topics and psycho motor skills can be completed in 20 days. In total, 8 consecutive weeks from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. will provide 160 hours of didactic and skills training. Classes typically run on Friday, Saturday and sometimes on Sundays. Classes start time is at 8 hours 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition, 24 hours of ambulance ride-a-long will total of 190+ hours of in depth training.
River Delta's EMT Training Program fulfills the training requirements set forth by the State of California in Title 22 of the California Code of regulations Division 9, Chapter 2, for Emergency Medical Technician Basics.
Course Description
This EMT re-certification course meets the state required hours to recertify your EMT license. The 24 hour course is scheduled over 3 eight hour days. 24 CE Credits and course completion certificate will be provided upon successful completion of all 24 hours of training.
EMT certification is valid for two years. In order to maintain certification an individual must recertify every two years. An individual is eligible for EMT recertification upon successful completion of the following requirements:
The BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers – Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. Most healthcare providers are required to take this course. New beginners and expired BLS provider card holders will need to take this initial BLS certification course.

EMSA-SCV (08/10) is herein incorporated by reference. Skills competency shall be verified by direct observation of an actual or simulated patient contact. Skills competency shall be verified by an individual who is currently certified or licensed as an EMT, EMT-II, Paramedic, Registered Nurse, Physician’s Assistant, or Physician and who shall be designated by an EMS approved training program (EMT training program, paramedic training program or CE provider) or an EMS service provider; EMS service providers include, but are not limited to public safety agencies, private ambulance providers and other EMS providers. Verification of skills competency shall be valid for a maximum of two (2) years for the purpose of applying for recertification. The skills requiring verification of competency are:
